Black Legion: Paint It Black

And my Chaos Space Marine legion of choice is....

"I see a red door and I want it painted black."

So what are the reasons for choosing these heretics:

• ALL THE GODS! - Unlike a lot of the original CSM legions, such as World Eaters, the Black Legion have access to all the Gods of Chaos. Instead of worshiping just one of the Chaos Gods (which isn't very chaotic), the Black Legion worship all as a whole. This allows them to benefit from all of the types of units and keep within the lore (which I'm a sucker for doing).
• Books - A little while after getting back into WH40K I picked up a few of the Horus Heresy books and loved the fall of Horus to Chaos. Although technically Word Bearers would be the first to have fallen to Chaos, the Luna Wolves (eventually Black Legion) struck me as an inspiring legion to go for.
• Abandon - The guy is massive and has a cool sword. Enough said there. 

I suppose they aren't the most original when it comes to choosing CSM, pretty basic colours (not far off just a base coat) and probably one of the most "go to" for newbies, but that's what I am.

When my painting skills start to pick up, I'll start taking on other challenges with harder models and armies.
